So often we have dreams & hopes that linger in our hearts & heads.
- you want to quit your job & start your own business
- you want to fall in love fully without any reservations
- you dream of making that big world trip
Whatever your dream is, the question is what’s holding you back?
I recently discovered what was holding me back from finding my own yoga place:
So I sat down to write down all the limiting beliefs that were holding me back from renting my own yoga place. There were loads of them: from being afraid of going bankrupt to the fear of being kicked out by the landlord because we OM’d too loud : )
But when I tried to think what actually holding me back from changing these beliefs, I realised something surprising:
I AM AFRAID OF GREATNESS
There, I said it. I am afraid of greatness. Of living the dream. I’m afraid of creating a new reality.
You see, the universe works in such a cool way: everything we send out, comes back to us at some point. So that means that if you send out fear, the only thing you will see is your fear becoming true.
But if you realise you have limiting beliefs & let go of them, everything is possible! The coolest things will happen & that can be scary.
HOW TO DEAL WITH ALL THIS?
I’ve made a 3 step plan for you that has helped me to move forward & live the dream. Proof that it works? I’ve just opened my own little yoga studio ; )
#1 write down all your limiting beliefs
Are you afraid of failure? Are you afraid people will judge you? Do you fear going bankrupt? Be honest & write it all down.
#2 write down new versions of those beliefsÂ
Jumping from a limiting belief to a positive one is too much to ask. So instead, write down a new truth that is in the direction of what you would like to belief. Something you can already believe in now.
So: I’m afraid of going bankrupt becomes I will find an accountant who can assist me in making the right financial choices.
#3 implement your new beliefs
Now it’s time to take action. Name 1 step you can take today in honour of your new beliefs. Find that accountant and make a plan with her/him.
#4 believe in the good things
Now the fear of greatness can creep in. The way I deal with it is by reminding myself that life will always give you the experience that is appropriate for the evolution of your soul at that very moment. If you’re not ready, you will not go to the next step because you’ll be holding yourself back.
What really helps me, is this little mantra:
“I believe in the good things coming”
Say it out loud every evening before you go to bed & you will start to believe in it.

# BONUS TIP
Visualisation works! Picture yourself already living your dream as clearly as you can. What would you be doing? How would it feel? How would you make yourself & other people happy? Dream big & then go make it happen!
